Worshipping the Lord Jesus is primary at Faith Fellowship.  After all, Jesus told us in Jn.4:23 that Father was seeking worshippers.  Therefore, we devote considerable time and effort to this highest of all callings, both in our public meetings, as well as encouraging that personal place of devotion to the Lord for each believer.  We see worship as the way that God has planned to practice His relationship with us.  There are several elements to worship that we express to the Lord.

Worship is to be God centered and Christ centered (1Co.8:6).  God alone is to be worshipped.  He has centered all that He is and all He has done in Jesus, who is Mediator, High Priest, King, Judge, and Lord!  Worship is all about God and not about preferences, styles, or musical talent.  It is a life style of devotion to the Lord.

Worship is to be truth filled (Jn.4:24 & Jn.14:6).  Jesus came to teach us how to live.   The greatest form of worship is our loving and devoted obedience.  Our worship is only authentic when we follow HIM, since Jesus is the only way anyone can come to God.

Worship must be Spirit led (Jn.4:24 & Php.3:3).  Authentic worship can only happen under the direction, power, and presence of God the Holy Spirit.   Only the illumined soul can approach God in a way acceptable to HIM!  Therefore, we seek His presence and leading in order to please Him.

Worship should be soul felt (Lk.10:27).  Passion for Jesus is a crucial and necessary element of authentic worship and is commanded by God.  Though emotion alone must not be the leading factor in worship, neither can it be eliminated or denied.  In fact, the Lord rejoices over His children and is grieved when we disobey Him.  Since God is passionate and we are made in His image, it stands to reason that we should love Him in the zealous way He loves us.  Passionate desire to know and follow the Lord is essential to real and authentic worship.

Worship must be Biblically expressed (Psalms).  There is a correct ‘way’ (His way), to worship the Lord.  The Bible establishes appropriate attitudes and motives leading to the right behaviors and actions.   Simply put, the Bible teaches believers how to worship.  People were created to worship the Lord.  God seeks worshippers who come to Him in Spirit and truth.  Since God emphasizes this, so do we.
