My mom and dad both accepted Christ within a year of each other when I was about 5 years old, so most of my early memories are of a loving Christian home. I went to church, I went to Sunday school, and I went to many church functions. I first accepted Christ into my heart with my mother at around age six and rededicated my life around age twelve at Beaver Camp, a Christian camp in the Adirondacks. Life was very good for me the majority of time during my years growing up in our home. However, when I reached high school, I slowly fell away from the Lord. At first, I professed to be a Christian but totally denied Christ with my lifestyle and the way I acted. Then eventually, I got involved with the wrong crowd and completely turned my back on the Lord! Thank God for my parents, who told me if I was going to live at home that I had to continue to go to church and attend Youth Group. Even though I fought them about going to Youth Group, I secretly still enjoyed it. (Yes parents, it is still okay to make your children do something for the Lord like attend Youth Group, even if they do not want too!). This time of wandering and searching continued until I was about 22 years old and had flunked out of college. Finally, I realized that my life was going nowhere. That is when I turned my life back to Christ and surrendered everything over to Him! No, my life has not always been perfect or even easy but I now have a beautiful wife, an amazing son, and Christ is the cornerstone of our family!
